Good News, Book Launch and Awards...Just Keep It All Coming

Good News

Yes, there is always some good news in the world. We just have to find it. And here's one good news story. Josie Conlon rescued an abused border collie. The dog was never affectionate, having been so badly treated, but he suddenly started jumping on her, crying and nuzzling her chest. When she went to the doctor they found a stage three cancer. The detection of this tumor saved her life.

Yay for that border collie and yay for the kind woman who saved him, so he could save her.

  1. Congratulations and thank you! I've received the award before so will just graciously accept it here.
That is an amazing story about the dog saving her life. Animals are smart.
And I won't badger you for your secret.

  2. Congratulations! And I'd be happy to host at my site for your release--a guest post or interview would be great (but whatever you want is really fine). Contact me at

  3. What a sweet story about the border collie.

I don't intend on leaving either. My to-do list is so long, at this rate, I'll never die.

  4. It's amazing what dogs can sense. Beautiful story. I'd be happy to help out any way I can with your next launch! How about a review and character interview?

  5. Congrats on the awards! That is a lovely story about the rescue dog. All ours are rescues and they are so affectionate despite what they have been through.

I'm happy to help out with a guest post, but like Erin, whatever you want to do would be great! Good luck.

  6. I love the typewriter in that icon. So colorful and retro! What a beautiful story about the dog, as well. Our dog was a rescue and people always tell me that when a dog is rescued, he/she somehow knows it and is always grateful.

  7. Congrats on your new book. Don't forget my Follower News so I can shout out for you.

And awesome Josie saved her sweet collie.

  8. I have a book being released on the 20th but I'll fit your cover and blurb in during that time frame.
The dog story is amazing. I've heard they can detect cancer and seizures.

  9. Fascinating story. It's amazing what animals can sense. I wonder if humans could handle all that input or make sense of it, if we had the ability.

  10. Congratulations on the award! And thank you so much for the nomination! I recently accepted the Very Inspiring Blogger Award, but I've never gotten the One Lovely Blogger Award, so thanks again!!!! :D

  11. That is an amazing story. I love hearing them because they make you wonder about the world. Was it a miracle? Can animals sense stuff we can't?
Congrats on the awards too. Also, I'd love to do a character interview for your upcoming book. You have my email.

  12. Awwww...thanks so much for the blogger award love. That's sweet. And I like most of the others you picked. There are some really awesome bloggers and authors out there and you are one of them.

And yes, please make sure to include me when it comes to assisting with the launch. I'd love a Top 5 list, like a Top 5 faves for your MC.

  13. C.L. I'd love to help you launch your new book!

  14. WoW, what an amazing story about the border collie!

Congrats on the award. I see you passed it on to some awesome blogging buddies.

  15. How amazing and rewarding to save an animal's life. How people can be so cruel escapes me but I would not let these people off as easy as they do get off. They would be serving major jail time if I was able to wield that stick

  16. What an AMAZING story! God put them together for a reason.... How wonderful to read such an incredible story!

    Congrats on the award, Lee!!!!!!

  17. Congrats on the awards. That is one smart pup, great story indeed.

  18. That's an amazing story about the dog. And congrats on all of those awards! I'd love to host a guest post on my blog :)

  19. Super awesome to hear a dog has a good home now:) And congrats on your award:)

  20. Hey Lee,

GREAT news about the border collie and the woman. I'm all about dog love. And congrats on the awards. You are most inspiring and lovely!

I'll have to see how much schedule shapes up. I'm sort of busy with other writing and things, but I'll let you know. Hate to commit and over extend myself.

Thanks for taking the time to read my short. We received our prompts (1440 writers broken into 48 heats with different prompts per heat) on Midnight Saturday (Friday night), I slept on it, woke with nothing, raked all day, nothing, slept, woke with the idea of the gods, raked all day and formulated, had a manic Monday, wrote first half Tuesday, manic Wednesday and Thursday, wrote second half Friday, edited, revised, and submitted on Saturday, hours before the deadline! Whew.

If I make it to the second round (top five of each heat), we'll only have three days--2000 words. Thanks again for the well wishes!

  21. What an amazing story about the collie. So glad it was a happy ending for them. Congrats on the awards :)

  22. Dogs really are man's best friend. :)

Congrats on the nominations! LOL, I don't know that I'd consider myself a zombie expert, but thanks.

  23. there are so many cases in which dogs or cats discovered health problems in their owners, rescued them from accidents, alerted them to fire or poison, and we all know what when dogs lick your wounds they heel faster. And cats like to sleep and spend time next to a dying person.

  24. Thank you so much for the nomination and congratulations on receiving your own! I l love it.. "Costa Rica Traveler who knows how to have fun." =)
I would love to participate in your launch, we will be in touch!
What an endearing story you have shared about Josie and her rescue dog. I hope and pray everything turns out for the best for both of them. They make a cute twosome! I love hearing stories like this. Very inspiring.
We rescued our little black kitty Luna back in September. She, too, was abused and it took her a month to finally stop hiding. Most recently, she laid on my lap while watching T.V. and it took until January for this to happen.

  25. Aww! That's great the person found the dog and was able to find what was wrong with it too. Poor thing!

  26. Congratulations on the awards! And I loved that story. So sweet that they saved each other.

  27. What a touching story. Lucky lady. Dogs are smart animals.
I'd love to help you launch your new book. Can't review it in February but will do so later. Could we do a Standard post and maybe a guest post?
Look at all your awards. Congratulations.
Thank you for awarding me the Inspiring Blogger Award. I've already done it so am thanking you here.
    Have a great week.

  28. Wow, this is a lot of good news! Thanks for sharing it with us :) Congrats to you on the awards and the book!

  29. Oh wow, that's a wonderful story. I get all emotional about animals.

Love the quote at the end; so true!

  30. Hi Clem. What a lot of good news. The dog story proves the case for karma. How wonderful! And congrats on all your awards. You are well deserved of each of them. I could do a standard post for your book launch if that would be helpful. :-)

  31. Your award cup runneth over! Thanks for the shout out. I would be very happy to feature your new book with cover, blurb, bio, and buy links - the soonest I post after the 24 is the 27. I hope that date's okay. If so, send me the stuff! :)

  32. I am a book...... ha ha! Good one.
Excellent post. Way to go on the reward.

  33. Dogs are amazing! I'm so glad the dog helped discover the tumor.

    Congratulations on your award!

    Congratulations on your award!

  35. I'm always available to help! Congrats on the new book. :)

Eat, sleep, and write...that pretty well covers the essentials in life!

  36. That is amazing that dogs can smell things like cancer. I've read stories of this nature before, but they always astound and amaze me.

Congrats on your awards. Smart woman keeping that big secret to yourself. You share it here and EVERYONE knows.

  37. Yay! Thanks for nominating me. Gosh, now I'm going to have to think up something interesting about myself.

Love your inspiring story. Dogs and so intuitive and loving--even if they don't like to snuggle.

I'd be glad to host you, Lee. Did I already volunteer? No, wait, that was a different book. You're one busy lady! Anyhoo, a guest post would be good. Doesn't have to be long, maybe link it to a short excerpt? Or anything you'd like. :)

  38. Definitely put me down for your launch! I am open to any kind of post that works best for you. Just let me know.
Love the story about the dog, amazing.

  39. Put me down for your launch!
