Celebrating Some "Small" and "Not So Small" Things

Joy spreads throughout me when I look at the thoroughly dusted and tidy desk. Yep. It's a small but celebratory moment to be able to see the top of my desk again.

Several people have offered to help me with my launch of Double Negative. Thank you all. I'll be in touch with you as soon as I have more information about the cover, the actual launch date etc. I'm still at the "Coming Soon" stage of the process, so if anyone else wants to lend a hand leave that in a comment.

    Maya Angelou was an amazing woman .. I heard a brief tribute by a literary festival director .. who said amongst other things .. she had so much charisma ...

    Her quotes and words will be around for a long time ..

    Yay for a clean desk. My desk (the kitchen nook) currently holds mail and snacks for the kids, toys and their coloring books. If mommy's working, they're working.

  21. I gave up on a desk - it made writing seem too much like work. Bleck! I keep my laptop on a hassock by the couch in front of the TV and do awful things to my back by hunching over it. Yes, I'm a very bad girl. :P

    Maya Angelou, I only discovered the talent of that marvellous lady. She will be missed and never forgotten.

  26. Maya Angelou's life, all around, was inspiration-in-action. I am saddened and this world is less one beautiful light pressing against the darkness. But I'm humbled in knowing her light helped to brighten others so they - we - can continue pressing against the darkness.

  30. I was so upset to hear of Maya's loss. I've loved her work and admired her as a woman and artist since I was given a book of her poems in 1994.
