Thanks to all of the Sparkfest and Platform-Building Campaigners who have stopped by to say hello. That's been really wonderful. I love meeting new people here.
While I was out visiting new blogs this week I found this perfect AWARD that I want to share with some bloggers I've been in touch with and who deserve to be followed because they write some wonderful posts. So here's the ONE TO FOLLOW award for:
Bish Denham (She shares such beautiful memories of her childhood that I feel I know her.)
MPax (A science fiction writer with some great posts about the possibilities in the future.)
Lyn Nerd (She cracks me up with her zany blog. Anyone who can make me laugh should be followed. IMHO)
Kelly Pollark (Vivacious, beautiful AND a family girl. I value family, so I wanted Kelly to get this one.)
Shelly Koon (I've just met her, but she loves the kinds of books I do, so I wanted to give her this.)
Hope you'll stop by these blogs and say hello and enjoy them as much as I have.
I'm in the middle of my garden harvest and if you've visited before you know that means I'm likely to go overboard about vegetables soon. Last year I did a whole series on PAIRING books with food. This year I'm not sure what I'll do, but it will definitely link my love of the literary with my love of fresh, seasonal foods.
Look out! As September approaches, I'm all about food.
I'm a writer who captures the pulse of adolescent confusion in my Young Adult fiction, Sliding on the Edge and The Princess of Las Pulgas. Of course, I often reveal a lot of my Old Adult confusion while doing that. I've just published my first Middle Grade fantasy titled Alligators Overhead. My blog posts come on Mondays & Thursdays unless there's something important, then they come as needed.

That is one cool award. Congratulations on receiving it. You gave it some deserving recipients.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the well deserved award! And thank you so much for awarding it to me! And yes, I'm so glad that people do realize what a big family person I am. Family is always first with me! :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your garden. My hubby had a veggie garden a few summers ago, and I loved going in the backyard to pick fresh food for dinner!
Whoop! Whoop! for the winners :-D
ReplyDeleteWow thanks Lee! I am so touched. I'm so envious of your garden and having a harvest. Yesterday it was 107 here in Texas, today 104. No reprieve from the heat, no rain in sight. We are turning to dust.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. :D I appreciate the award. Congrats on receiving it for you and your great blog.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the award, Lee! I am enjoying reading your posts and the TV interview. Thank you for following my Iron Butterfly blog! Any thoughts? Cheers!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Lee! I am so honored that I find myself speechless (that NEVER happens :P). I am going to out my new shiny award up as soon as I get break here.
ReplyDeleteDid I mention I am WAY excited?
So - I'm curious, what's growing in the garden? I would love to have one but the dogs think gardening is a game in which I plant and they dig back up...

Thanks for the recommendations. I will have to stop by :)
ReplyDeleteTerrific interview! Your books sound intriguing, especially the first one. And I like your comment "It all started with 'what if?' " Nice to meet you, thanks for stopping by my blog. Following!
ReplyDeleteThanks for recommending these blogs. I'm just a click away from checking them out now. . .
ReplyDeleteOh look I'm back!
ReplyDeleteA little game of tag being played between campaigners and I tagged you here http://wp.me/p1G2GX-6L ;)
Participation totally voluntary!
I love food!
ReplyDeleteI actually use it lots ;D
Great blogs you awarded - good people, but there are lots of those out there . . .
Ooh, looking forward to your food-book pairings. I so wish I'd planted a veggie garden this year. Oh well, next summer....
ReplyDeleteCongrats to those you've passed the award on to. Nothing beats home grown veggies. Yum.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog and following. I followed you back. :) I'm looking forward to getting to know you through your blog. (Especially after reading that you're all about food...me too!)
ReplyDeleteI was just stopping by to say "hello" as part of the MG/YA group from the Platform-Building Campaign. Now I see I have to spend some time perusing your site :-)
ReplyDeleteHello, fellow campaigner! I'm not in your group, but I still wanted to check out your blog and say, "HI!"
ReplyDeleteSo awesome that you had an interview on CBS. That's wicked AWESOME! :)
Wow, Lee, what a super surprise. Awesome award, and thanks so much for passing it on to me. With the birth of my grandson, it's been a wonderful week, and this award makes it even sweeter! I wanted to join in the campaign, but I knew I couldn't keep up with it with the new baby. Hope you're having fun with it. Glad to hear you're sleeping well these days, and I hope it continues when you start your next story. Thanks again, Lee!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the fab award and to the awardees, too :O)
