Summer Wrap Up/Fall Preview

It's been a great summer with several debut writers stopping in to share their books and their advice. Did you know that only 5% of the books published each year are by first time authors? The rest are by established or celebrity writers. Keep the new books coming by passing the word about these books and by adding them to your MUST READ or GIFT list.

Here they are again, those beautiful covers and those wonderful stories for young readers of all ages.
So what's coming up on the Write Game for fall? How about something to do with food? I love to eat. Don't all writers love to eat? You'd think so by the forum exchanges or from some of the food scenes in books. Yum. Check back next week for some tasty lit.

  5. Lee, your creative spirit is wonderful. Always a pleasure to drop by and say hello! Re the Cat of Zen ... ? ... left you another brief reply on blog! Cats really do know something we don't!

Will look forward to your fall blog ... I think writers do have a lot of nervous energy, hence, cookies, snacks, etc., well, yes, always in demand! :)

  6. Wow, that's it? Just 5%? That's kind of depressing. But, the caliber of talent out there is amazing. Thanks for introducing us to some amazing books!

  10. Still absorbing the 5% statistic.

Congratulations to all the winners (I won one!) and to the amazing authors. I wish them lots of book sales and eager readers.

  11. Yes, it's a bit daunting to read these stats, but I'm thinking that with the change in the publishing business where more digital formats are becoming available there may be a shift toward needing more, rather than fewer writers. Who knows? It doesn't matter. All that matters is that writers write what's in their hearts and minds.

Please say something to me, anything. Well, not anything, but a kind word will do.
