This is the break I really needed, and yet here I am at a computer. It's only been a week since we arrived in Nicaragua and already I've figured out how to re-connect with the world. It took a bit of doing. We had to ford a river and drive about an hour which if you've ever been to Nicaragua you'll know that that alone is a major challenge. The small four-room hotel is the only place for miles with internet connection.
Our days are mostly body surfing, reading, walking down to see the best sunsets ever, eating lots of lobster, and feeling not the least bit guilty about the sloth we easily settle into.
I'm a writer who captures the pulse of adolescent confusion in my Young Adult fiction, Sliding on the Edge and The Princess of Las Pulgas. Of course, I often reveal a lot of my Old Adult confusion while doing that. I've just published my first Middle Grade fantasy titled Alligators Overhead. My blog posts come on Mondays & Thursdays unless there's something important, then they come as needed.
You're in Nicaragua?! Enjoy!
